What is your frag tank setup?

    Halides would work. But I would only run 150 watt halides.
    I have a 48x24x12 frag tank and run 4 bulb t5 with 1 blue reef brite strip. Works great.
    Led work too. I just like t5 even coverage better.

    I'm leaning toward T5 now I think. Seems multiple people are using them and reporting good results. My question now is how many bulbs should I run? As stated earlier the tank will be 4'x21"x13" and will be a mixed tank with everything from softies to sps.

    4 to 6 bulbs will be fine. 6 would be better but 4 will work just fine.

    8 bulb will work but no need. 6 is good.

    Out of curiosity, are you running it standalone or is it going to be plumbed into your main system? When I ran one I always had it tied into my main system... makes things way easier.

    It's going to be stand alone. I agree it would be easier but part of the reason I'm doing a frag tank is have a back up should something major happen with my display tank.
