i was wanting to get some opinion on 400 watt se metal halide bulbs
I have tried xm 10k bulbs fast coral growth but they are too yellow, tried xm 20k bulbs  but they are too blue and slow coral growth.  I was thinking of trying either 15k xm bulbs or 12k reeflux.  just wondering if i could get some suggestions on a bulb that is in between yellow and blue but still has good coloring and coral growth.  in case you need to know my ballasts are hameltons m59 with spider reflectors  plan on up grading to lumatex electronic 400 watt balasts and lumenbright reflectors eventualy

Did you try 20k XM's? I think they are the perfect color, you've seen them.

hey ninjay, i was running a 12k reeflux on my tank for 6 months and had great growth with it. it was kinda a crisp white blue look on a 400 watt blueline e ballast. the corals looking great to, colors really popped. reeflux are good bulbs with great par readings so i don't think you can go wrong there. just my 2 cents

    thx joe

will a reeflux work with a m59 ballast because it says they only recomend pulse start and electronic ballast and correct me if i am wrong but isn't a m59 ballast probe start?
