I have 2 x 175w iwasaka 15k bulbs and 4 x 65w pc lights... I wondering if yall think that would be enough light to support SPS in a 90g tank or do I need to upgrade my lighting? I already have one opinion on it thanks Joel [IMG] But I just want some other people opinions on this.

you could get by with the higher demanding at the top. it would be better if you swapped the pc for t-5s

Will the pc ballasts work for T5s... Or do I have to buy new ballasts? I have some workhorse ballasts too

It will work. I use to run my 90 with a outer orbit combo fixture that had 2 150w hallides and 2 130w pc and it worked just fine for sps. But you would get better growth with a couple SE 250w hallide pendents and some t5's for actanic IMO.

If you are keeping the setup for awhile, changing out the compacts for T5s isn't a bad idea at all.
On your MH bulbs, you should be fine.  Even when comparing to some of the more popular bulbs in various wattages, they put out quite a bit of PAR.

So do you think if I took out the PCs and put in 4 T5s would that be better than the PCs cause if the ballast that I have for the PCs would work for the T5s I have the parts to put T5s in the canopy with the MHs

I'll have two 400 watt halides with DIY Lumenarc reflectors for sale in the next couple weeks. Let me know if you're interested, I might even have a 14 Actinic LED Strip with Cree XR-E's I'll have to sell by then, I don't think I'll need that with the new fixtures I'm building.

Thank you slovan.... Do you know if the ballasts for the PCs would work in powering the T5s or do I have to buy new ballasts
