WTB Refugium that is HOB

Hey I really don't want to spend that much, but if anyone has an old Hang On Back Refugium that they would like to part with I could give it a good home.

I have Arcady spend so much money on this fish tank that I need to slow down with the massive spending like this for awhile.

Think I will need any lighting on that ?

 

What size is ur tank? I know a lot of poeple that use aquaclear filters because they are big enough to make a fuge in the back. Plus the pump and everything is there to circulate the water.

I made the order last night, after shipping the item came to 25$, using the webpage above and thought that was cheap enough.

Now I just need to find someone with some chaeto

 

If you're going to grow chaeto in it, yes, you will need some light. Many people get a clip-on type light, they sell them at places like Menard's etc, and put a flood light fluorescent bulb in it. The light is often put on a timer to come on at night to possibly help with the pH swing tanks experience when the lights go off. I have free chaeto for you if interested, I'm in Riverside. Not sure where you're located, but you can just place a "Wanted chaeto" ad and you should be able to locate some.

 

Thank you it looks like Riverside is closer to Iowa City and I live in Des Moines.

I will take your suggestion and post that ad to see if I can't grab some Chaeto for when my box comes in the mail.

 

dude! using an aquaclear 80 or 110 is the way to go for a 29 gallon biocube!

 

No problem. Ive used them for along time breeding fresh water stuff. Have a couple left over, always thought they'd make a decent little fuge.

 

Yea I think it will. I have some rio pumps laying around from all the years so hope one of them will fit to power it.
