So I had to take my rbta away from my clarkiis and put it in another tank. It was looking very subdued, but then it got to the point that I thought it was dead. Just a limp piece of nothin' hanging on a rock. However, I noticed a couple days ago that it had moved itself to a new spot, and now it appears to be re-inflating itself, and it still has bright color in the tips, although it doesn't have much for tentacles at this point. I have been trying to give it tiny feedings of mysis, and we'll see how it goes. From what I've read it can take a long time to come back so we shall see.

I was having trouble with my bta. Was feeding all fish then spot feeding the bta from time to time, found my cleaner shrimp dinging through him. Now I spot feed the bastard shrimp with chunks of shrimp. Once fully occupied I feed the bta and supervise till he gets it to his mouth. The shrimp would occasional loose their feast as then scavenge the bta.

Plus one to the shrimp scenario! I have a few shrimp that are... let's say... aggressive feeders.... they will hop onto and pull food from just about anything.

Last week I came back from a bike ride to my wife asking me why an anemone crawled onto the fan housing. "No! No! No!"

Turns out the guy crawled onto it from the wall, then got sucked in about 50%. Imagine the motion of a baseball card taped into the spokes of a bike, or flipping your finger up and down on your lips. Basically that was the motion the anemone had against the impeller. Getting thrashed.

So I pull the plug on the pump and we wait. About an hour or two later the nem worked its way out of the fan then dropped to the bottom of the tank. I worried about it dying but it seemed to still be alive and it went into hiding for a day or two.

As of today it appears to be fully recovered.
