    Hello-
I need some advise here.  I have a sparkling blue dotted mushroom in my tank.  I have had it for a week now.  I noticed this morning that there is like a ball of white worm looking things coming from its center.  I don't have much experiance with SW so I have no clue if this is normal.  I have three other mushrooms and none of them are having issues.  I did feed some mysis shrimp last night so wondering if that may have something to do with it.  I don't know what I should do?
I have moved it several times because the rock it came glued to is small and it kept falling over.  So yesterday afternoon I glued the small rock down into a hole of a big rock.  So I don't know if it is stressed or what.  Please help!!!!
    Thanks for any help!

    Hey Crystal
More then likely they are sweeper tentacles.  Basically they are stingers that they use for defense.  Just keep an eye on them & make sure no other coral is close that may get stung

Thanks xroads. It is by itself not near anything. I did notice there was a hermit picking at it last night as well which may have been the issue as well now that you say that. It will be the first thing I check on when I get home from work tonight.

    Thanks!

Could be mesentery filaments, or basically the mushroom's guts. They will spew these in times of stress, so maybe the hermit was bothering it. I've had some do this and they recover by the next day.

+1 on mesentery filaments. I have seen lots of corals do this when stressed or as a feeding response.
