Yeah, I'm kind of surprised.  I think they have to be firefish fry, since that's the only kind of fish I have a pair of in my 30 gallon biocube.  Tonight when I was feeding some cyclopeeze I noticed these tiny light orangish babies darting out from under a base rock.  They swim kind of funny, but maybe because they have a tad bit of egg sac still.  Not sure that they stand much of a chance in my tank, but they seem to have a pretty good hiding spot.  Does anyone have experience with firefish fry?  I do happen to have some rotifers and I hatch out bbs so I suppose that will come in handy.  I could probably suck them out with a turkey baster, but I'm afraid that'd hurt them more than leaving them.  Any advice welcome.

Well it would certainly make more sense to me if they weren't fish, but they really look like fish.... Basically like an orangish baby guppy that swims like it had a lot to drink! If there's a larvae of something else that looks like baby fish, let mw know. I'd really like to id these things. My firefish pair have been back in the rocks a lot lately and rarely come out to eat at the same time, so my bet is that they spawned, however I think chances of any fry surviving would be low after a second look with a magnifying glass, the swimming movement would be more like shrimp, so maybe they are, I just cannot see any legs, but these are tiny! I guess I'll keep watching and hope they keep growing so I can see what they are.would be really cool if my fire shrimp are spawning.

the ones that i saw that were mysis had really big eyes and move around close to things(bottom, sides, rock, etc) but never out in the open water.

You're right on!  With some patience and a magnifying glass I got a closer look when they weren't moving so quickly and they really are shrimp.  I never thought I could confuse shrimp with fish, but I guess so!  I was able to see there are a bunch more tiny ones under that rock too.  Cool, more fish food!!
