Wanderlei Silva looks like he has adjusted to the cage now....He will be a force to reckon with!

Machida is a runner....Don't care for him much because of that run and snipe style.

Sokoudjou will be a force in the future.

Sorry that Dana Whites ego is running Tito off to another league....

UFC is going to have to bring those ppv prices back down soon as the competition is gaining ground on them.

    Here's my take on Machida:

    Lyoto Machida...unappreciated.

Lyoto Machida is an unappreciated fighter.

He’s intelligent and very technical. Machida may not always press the action, but he counters very well. He finds openings with his controlled aggression and is dangerous standing and on the ground. Machida has solid takedown defense and has an uncanny ability to spin out of a clinch. His unpredictability and unorthodox stance sets him apart from the rest of the light heavyweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and in the world.

The Shotokan Karate black belt’s style has been known to baffle his opponents, often leaving them flustered. Machida is undefeated as a professional and holds notable wins over Rich Franklin, Stephan Bonnar, B.J. Penn, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and most recently Tito Ortiz at UFC 84. That’s an impressive list.

I personally enjoy watching Machida pick apart his opponents and completely frustrate them with his elusive yet unappreciatively dominant style. Unfortunately, that same fighting style has garnered him a bit of criticism. Of his 13 career victories, Machida has won eight of them by way of decision. Moreover, four of his five UFC appearances have resulted in unanimous decisions.

“He’s a boring fighter.” “All he does is run away.” “He needs to press the action more.”

Comments like these are abundant and are the main focus of his criticism. Those who were quick to write-off his performances as “dull” have yet to doubt the validity of his victories. He deservingly earned all of his wins without question.

I'm not a huge UFC fan, but I was at Brad's house on Saturday night and he ordered the fights so I saw most of the above fights.

When I watch a UFC fight, I don't want to hear the announcer talk about "avoidance" and "elusiveness" the entire fight. While it may be a style that Machida's very good at and helps him to win a lot of fights, its not very exciting.

If he doesn't have that reach advantage which allowed him to keep landing that left jab w/o Tito being able to counter and if he doesn't barely slip out of that arm bar I don't think that he wins that fight...and that's not saying much for anyone who's supposed to be dominant who's fighting against someone past their prime in their last UFC fight (sorry I don't follow the drama, but I thought Tito was retiring not moving to another league, at least the announcers made it sound like that, if Tito's not past his prime than the win was a little more impressive)

The knee that BJ Penn landed in the main event was ridiculous...as Sherk was backing up I was confused as to why he took like 2 extra steps and bounced off the cage, and he shouldn't of because Penn killed him with that knee. Maybe he got hit harder than it looked like to me which is why he went into the cage, but wow did Penn react perfectly.

and I agree about W Silva, he was pretty dominant and is a fun fighter to watch, some of the highlights they showed leading up to the fight were amazing.
