So I have been looking at the Prizm Skimmer for a little while just for a little temporary skimmer, and wanted to see if anyone has used one and thoughts on them?

Aren't they like....250 bucks? Not worth it, not worth 50 really. AquaC remora is a much better buy

Assume you need HOB. Look into the Octopus line of skimmers if not, they are the club overall favorite in beginer and even advanced skimmers for the money. Dont think they have an HOB though. Agree with Andy although I have had neither. Haven't heard that many that like the Prizm but the Remora people seem to like.

Had one....hated it. It was a start up purchase, cause it was cheap and before I found the club. What a mistake. It was tossed in the trash!

You can find used CPR bak pak skimmers for cheap. I have one on my 29 gallon I got from a member for $20 w/o pump. Slapped a maxijet on it and it works very well.

Alright, sounds like Prizm skimmer is out of the question. Yeah I have to have a HOB no sump yet, gonna try one on my next tank. I will do some research on the Aqua C. Thanks for everyone's input.

There's at least 2 kinds of HOB Reef Octopus skimmers. AC&C in Washburn has them, they're $160 each if I remember.

Looking into the Aqua C and liking what I see, I thought I was a big CPR fan, but might try a Aqua C.
