I want to add some jumping fish, but need to cover my tanks first.  I hate the way egg crate cuts down the light & I know some fish will fit through the holes of that anyway.
Does anyone else use something that will work?
    Thx

I messed around with this for a long time because I have a bow front tank so I couldn't easily build a cannopy. I tried glass but it traps the gasses and made my tank way to hot, so I couldn't do that. The thing that I found to be the best at keeping fish in and not blocking light without building a cannopy was to use the mesh screen from storm windows and have a solid frame around the trim of your tank. It's not made of any kind of metal so it won't rot and it doesn't really block any light. I would have made a top this way but it was still going to be a pain in the *** because I'd have to find something rigid that I could bend for the front of the frame so I just ended up making a Cannopy. I laid a piece of thick plastic on the top/front and traced the curve and then just cut that curve out and used it as a frame to the cannopy.

    Hope this helps
