Take a Moment to Welcome the New IC/CR Trustees

Our most recent addition is David Robinson (blackx-runner) who will be serving as the CR area liaison and assistant trustee for the IC/CR chapter. David lives and works in Cedar Rapids where he has a FREAKIN AWESOME 250 Marinland DD reef tank (filled with boisterous fish /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif.


David has been working with a steel mill in the area and has some impressive crafting and fabricating skills. He was able to provide some much needed help for one of my projects, and I'm sure he's looking forward to aiding the community with his expertise in marine aquarium installations. His tank truly speaks volumes (no pun intended) about his skills and obsession!


Our area trustee and IC liaison is Kyle Potter (kpotter2) who has been with us for a month now, ever since Bob Boone (bobsfish) stepped down from the position. Kyle lives in North Liberty and works in Iowa City at Oral-B where he is involved in mechanics and system maintenance.


Kyle's reef tank collection includes a really impressive 75 that is brimming with sps, a 40 (?) gallon mixed reef tank, and a 220 monster that is waiting for plumbing and components that are gradually accumulating. Kyle was a long time member and associate in the Eastern Iowa Aquarium Association (EIAA) and has a history of loving discus and other cichlids.


These guys have great plans for the upcoming year including; beginner level topics, low tech reefing tools and mechanisms, and establishing a steady monthly schedule for our meets. Together they are putting together a knock out schedule and a sure winner for our upcoming year, and it all kicks off with our Holiday Potluck and Reef Meet Sunday January 13th noon-5 @ The North Liberty Community Center (see homepage articles for details.)


We are exceptionally lucky to have these and other brilliant, and highly capable members in our area. So if you're just joining us, don't miss out we've got a heck of a year ahead of us!
