I work in a warehouse that has T5 light fixtures for lighting. Will this type of fixture work? Some of the lights have 4 bulbs other 5 or 6?
    Thanks

Depends, what are you trying to use it for?

You need to find out if the ballast are High Output ( HO) or not, and match the type of bulbs to the type of ballast, but millions of reefers have had successful tanks with T5 units.

It would "work" but..you would obviously need different bulbs and the ballasts May or maynot be ho/54watts per bulb. In terms of a diy project, it can be made to work if the ballasts are right tho. Will also want to account for it not being water "resistant", would want a splash guard for sure, and safeguard against salt creep and splashing.
I did similar with a t8 shop fixture several years back for a freshwater tank.

    What size is the tank...?

You can always use t8 shop light fixture to get by. I have a handful that I got at liwes for an old freshwater tank that ran like... 15 bucks each or so...
