    Hello GIRS Members!

    Spring Fest 2020     is coming up soon! - March 22nd and the Iowas State Fairgrounds, Des Moines

    If you are interested in bringing some of your corals, fish, or other items to Spring Fest, please post in this thread!

    Below are the table fees and guidelines

    GIRS Member Table (for Hobbyists):
    • GIRS Membership dues must be current
    • $35 cash/paypal payment only ($30 for table, $5 for power use charge - ISF is charging this now)
    • Single tank per table
    • No special table decorations (only those provided by fest coordinator/team)
    • No advertising material, signage, or business cards
    • No "bulk quantities" new equipment or dry goods (i.e. can't bring a stack of items)
    • Can bring personal used equipment or unwanted new equipment / dry goods (i.e. something they bought and don't need, just not multiple items) see Note below
    • Listed on fest promotion posts as a hobbyist
    Payment should be sent to treasurer@greateriowareefsociety.org

    Note:     we are also allowing GIRS Members to get a table for only personal used equipment or unwanted new equipment / dry goods. There would be no $5 power use charge for such a table (i.e. $30 instead of $35)

    Yes, vendors can sign up also. Pricing for vendor tables is $75 for the first table and $15 for each additional table.

    You are welcome to share a single tank at a table. Only requirement is that both of you are GIRS members. I see that you are a GIRS member. I don't remember about Daniel.

    Toying with the idea of bringing a bunch of frags down... If my math is right it looks like it would cost $55 total for membership fees and a hobbiest table correct?

    Also wondering what attendance numbers usually are and how many vendor/hobbiest tables there are on average. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated :)

    Last SpringFest had 10 saltwater vendors, usually have half hobbyist and half commercial vendors. Looking to have 6 hobbyist and 6 commercial vendors for the event. Last year had about 500 attendees, and I estimate 160-200 were saltwater hobbyist and the rest were freshwater hobbyists.

    Thanks. Do you know if there are still spots open for hobbiests? Still have to confirm with work on getting the day off but would consider driving down if there is a spot available.

    Ok, could you put me(Doug Griffith) down for a hobbyist table? Looks like I would owe for GIRS club fee and a swap table fee. $55 correct??
    I have tons of frags(some higher end zoas) and usually just go to the TCMAS swap up in the cities. Would be fun to check out how you folks do things and see what you have for variety down there :)

    Ok, just upgraded my account($20) and sent a separate table fee($35). I do have a quick question... Are the tables 6ft? I have a frag tank/tub and some (not needed)new and used equipment and just need to figure out how much I should leave at home ;) Thanks!
