Been reading that this sand is great for tanks and that sometimes hardware stores sell it as their playsand for about 4 bucks per 40 pound bag. Doesn't take a math whiz to realize that is WAY cheaper than the stuff that is labeled for aquarium use (and from what I read it is the same stuff that is relabeled for different companies). Anyone know of a place nearby I can get some?

They went out of business several years ago.

It was pure aragonite, really good stuff. Just cant find it anymore.

I ordered a whole pallet of SouthDown (66 bags) years ago and paid around  $180 total [IMG] Most went to Girs members when the club was just starting out.
I'm down to my last three bags and wish I could get more for my Marineland 250 when it gets here in a couple weeks.
I don't know if three bags will cover the bottom even.

What are the dims on the 250? That would be a nice size for a display tank. Plan on making it a reef or FOWLR?

    Dimensions are 60x36x27
Right now the plan is to start as fish only but with everything geared toward low light reef in the near future.
I'll probably start a post once I get everything going.
