Any one have a Reef Octopus 3000 Internal Skimmer?
I want to know exactly the footprint including pump/ piping it will take.. I am looking for small skimmer to handle 350-400 g per say. I don't have that size tank, I want the ability.
Until I get a basement sump going, I need a skimmer to accommodate my regular sump...
    Thanks

I have an ASM G5 skimmer that I'll sell for $250. Add another $50, and I'll throw in the Rubbermaid 100 gallon sump, and acrylic shelf that I had the skimmer on (custom made for the Rubbermaid sump). It's been mod'ed to be a recirculating skimmer and also has a gate valve for water level adjustment. It's rated for a 700 gallon system. It can be used with a feed pump, but I just used the drain line from my display tank to feed it. I switched to a different skimmer because the ASM skimmer was too tall (36") for the shelf that I built for my new sump and frag tanks.

I appreciate that AJ ... Does it come with an Anemone...LOL

Looking to go new at this point, I bought a used one before, wasn't impressed by its performance...

    Thanks

Nope...does not come with an anemone. Much of a skimmer's performance has to do with how clean it is. I just cleaned my skimmer the other day and was surprised how much the performance had degraded. It's been about 6 months since the last full cleaning (i.e. pump, impeller, body, neck, etc). My ASM performed as well as my current EuroReef...but sounds like you already have your mind made up.

ASM skimmers are very nice skimmers, for the price that's actually one hell of a deal!

I have a Super Reef Octopus 3000 INT, is it the same one you're talking about?

    Yes
How much space does it take footprint wise?

9" x 12" footprint, 24" tall. You'll need another inch or two to get the lid off.

    Thanks
I am debating on Internal or external... Are there differences in performance?
