Advice? Skimmer pump break-in?

    So I got a new pump for my skimmer is there a break in time for this? For the life of me I cant remember...

    I never really have experienced a break in from replacing the pump.

    I've noticed that a new pump will produce better than the old one did so you may have to adjust the skimmer, but I don't think there is an actual break in period.

    Just wanted to make sure :)

    I just shut off the air adjusted the water level then let it rip ;)

    You might have to "tune" it down the road as the slime coating builds up, but that's probably about it.

    The pump is a fixed magnet pump. so long as its reef safe (ceramic), there's nothing to physically change in the pump, and thus no break-in time.

    So i bought the wrong size pump :/..... according to bashea I need a mag 18 not a mag 12..... just purchased the mag 12 now just purchased a mag 18....

    The website that I looked at had the wrong info.... should have just looked at basheas website.. oops oh well I can use it somewhere im sure lol

    Haha yes lol. Its a downdraft skimmer so needs a lot of power... I like it reminds me of my old etss skimmer

    Gotta love ETSS :)

    I'm using an Iwaki MD-55RLT to power mine.

    I miss my ETSS 600 skimmer definitely a great skimmer i also used an iwaki on that one. I have a Bashea aquatics 8-24 skimmer now.
