I don't see anything wrong with keeping a few small fish in there. In most cases the right fish in a frag system I could see as being very beneficial.

Sixline would be good since they can eat many pests and are small copperband if it's a larger frag tank for the same reason. yellow tang for algea control, would be some of my some suggestions. Many options though.

wrasses to eat worms and snail larvae/planaria etc. anything else you might run into, and tangs or something for algae. fish are vitally important.

ok i understand the symbiotic relationship between fish and corals. i appreciate your input thank you very much. with such a small system we will need small fish that will stay small i think rainfords goby will eat algae and some wrasse that stays small would eat hitchhikers. what about the fish jumping out?

That's my concern also about keeping fish in my frag tank...it's only 10" deep so I've opted for a fishless at least for now... I'm watching intently to see the frag growth. If I'm not getting the growth that I expect, I will probably add 2 or 3 fish... Good luck!
