Was at AE today and saw this really cool wrasse.  Not practicing what i preach i say wrap it up ill take it.
Get it in my tank and wow it looks so sweet and decide to  look it up on LA.  This damn thing gets to be 11 inches long.  What the hell am i going to do with a 11 inch long fish in my 90.
Please please please research your purchases. Dont be a Mike.

I agree do your research, but I rarely see wrasses that big. May take alotta years.

I say you will be fine for quite some time. I think sometimes the max sizes are extreme conditions. About how big is the fish now?

Just sell it in a couple years when it gets to big. I would worry about it eating shrimp and crabs and such sence it is one of the larger wrasses.

yeah i know, LA does say it will eat wild shrimp. I only have 2 in my tank a cbs and a skunk shrimp. seems to be pretty peaceful for the time being. My biggest concern right now is how peaceful my wife is going to be when she sees a new fish in the tank

i have a coris wrasse in my 90 and they say max size is 15 inches but i have done alot of research and rarely do they get to 8 or 9 inches in captivity, even in bigger tanks. you will be just fine, but your shrimp might not agree with me!!! lol

Back when my bf used to watch my money like a hawk, he would notice every new purchase and have a comment. i just say, "honey, ive had that for a really long time, you never pay attention to anything, i wish you'd take a more active role in my hobbies." Yes, i used guilt. It works. Then they just stop saying anything, even when they are sure its a new fish, its just not worth it =)

    wow, ^^^EVIL !

I tell my wife I traded stuff for my new equipment quite often so she doesn't think I spent the money that I did on it. I don't turn it around on her and make her feel bad about it though, hahaha.

Look man, this is a strategic move on your part! This is what I do; 1.) Purchase a beautiful species that gets WAYYY to big for your tank, 2.) Let your wife get attached to him over the next 3-4 years 3.) Justify the need for a larger tank when he can barely turn around anymore 4.) Rally her support to upgrade to a 540!

Tank Lights have not come on yet, the fish are out though swimming around and she has yet to even glance at the tank. At this point iam going to just sit back and see how long it takes for her to notice. maybe i can squeeze a few more in there and use all of the above excuses for each one.
