So I was working in the sump the other day and was getting little shocks when I would touch something like the float valve or the light sitting on the sump. So I started to unplug everything one at a time and found out that it was may newer(like 5 months old) 250 watt heater that was causing the shocks. It was still working and was hot to the touch.
So my question is- is the heater junk? is there a way to fix it?
    any help would be great
    thanks

Yes, get a new one. You don't want stray current running in your tank, or a defective heater in there /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif
