there are alot of differnt gobies that will blue zoo has a seperate section under gobies for sand sifting gobies
i my opinion only the diamond goby will not have a tendency to spit sand all of corals they generally spit it out where they collect it unlike say a dragon goby who will take his mouth full of sand up to the top of the tank and spit it all over the place

the problem with engineer gobies is you never see them I had one in my tank for 3 years all I saw of him was a little bit of his head between rocks during feeding and he was over 6 in long

I got a sleeper head goby, he does spit sand over the corals alittle bit, but not too bad I dont think. Diamond gobies are good ones too. Looking for a decent one at the moment but havnt seen any good ones. I think diamonds hide alittle bit too though.

The Engineer Goby and Banded Jawfish both do a good job of moving sand around in the reef tank I maintain. Today I went in and one of them had moved 4 corals. One day he picked up one toadstool leather on a 1" square frag plug and moved it all the way across the tank, unless there's a ghost in the tank.
