Well I'm transferring everything now. There isn't a glare as my stand is wood under the tank. My wife and brother in law like the sand look better. Another issue that scares me is the rocks seem to slip more and are harder to keep in place. Also I've always kept my sand and use it again. I really hate moving stuff!!!

You could also setup a remote deep sand bed to archive the buffering properties of the sand?

I went to a bare bottom on a 75 2 years ago but I used a black plexi glass. It looked pretty sweet but issue was crap would build up under it. If you decide to put anything down glue it. And glue it real good so nothing gets under. I'm sitting here looking at my tank wondering what to do lol.

I believe the cuttingboardcompany is an option for the rock slip scenario.

Your rock is capable of buffering just fine. Sand is just crushed rock after all. Lots of BB tanks have zero pH issues.

Travis, here's a link to a thread a guy put together not too long ago. It's just the first example that popped into my head. If you do a search for HDPE sheets and reef tanks, or Starboard (which was mentioned above) you'd get plenty of info.

Well sand is in. I put all the rock in first to just let my wife see what the bare bottom looks like and she thought it looked like crap even though I liked it. Funny I do all the work for the tank, she wouldn't even know how to add water yet she gets the sand. But I guess she never says anything when I spend money. No pics yet it is too cloudy.
