So me my wife and I are tired of going to the store to buy water.  it only cost about 2 bucks for 5 gals of water and was not much of a big deal with my 55gal tank.  Now with my 90 gal and 30 gal sump I am going through 2-3 gals of water a day, I almost thought I had a leak some where.  Anyway I am wanting a unit i can hook up to a cold water faucet in my laundry room and basically fill my jugs as I need them rather then have something that is on all the time.  Any suggestions?

Talk to Craig (xroads) about purchasing a new unit (heck he might even have something used), you will want to get a storage unit to make water in thou, it takes about a day to make 50-75 gals.

you could buy my mighty mite from air, water ice for $75.00 + $10 ship

It is basically exactly what you are looking for.

See the FS section for the listing.

yeah I do not even need that much water per day 5-10 gals a day is all I need.  I have no place for a big storage tank.

I didn't know what was going on with it. It does not have clear filter canisters. It is a compact unit that has all the filters encapsulated on top of the bracket. There are no canisters. I have never seen a design quite like it. But the owners manual touts it as being light and portable. Sounds like you don't want a wall mounted unit that feeds a storage barrel on a float valve.....this is what you want I think? It does 50 GPD which means about 2 gallons an hour.

In time you may find you want a larger unit and storage. I don't know.

Technically you can connect ANY RODI unit to a faucet and disconnect it with ease (with the right adapter).

This unit comes with an adapter that attaches to your basement utility sink faucet.

But if that does not work for you, you can by ALL KINDS of adapters for your particular application. There is a RODI adapter for every situation anyone could ever have. BRS will send you what you need first class mail now so it won't cost an arm and a leg.

Personally, I use a 3/4" T fitting off my basement cold water faucet. I hook up my RO to one of the T's and I hook up a garden hose to the other T'. The T that goes to my RODI has a switch so you can feed water to your RODI as needed. In my case it is always on since I feed a storage barrel on a float. In your case you could just turn it off at your discretion. You could use the garden hose on the other T at any time.

Just thought I would add that Lowe's has pretty much all of these adapters available.
