I think the rock looks cool. Gives the illusion that the tank is look out of a sub into the ocean.

Will you have any rock in front of the back wall? I think that as it is it looks like some small rocks cemented in place (which it is), BUT if you had other, larger aquascaping in front of it, it could look pretty bad-a$$ as a background.

If you aren't having other aquascaping, then I would go all black, or re-do some of it so that the rock sizes varied a bit more.

I agree with nickboul- but would like to add, can the areas around the bulkheads be filled in a bit?

BTW, I think what you've got going on in your fish room is so cool!! Keep photos coming.

yes there will be more rock for in the tank for aquascaping around 150lbs or so. the bulk heads are completly filled in around them in the picture the portland cement hadn't dried all the way yet thats where the darker gray areas are.

Well I still can't decide. if I go with a rock wall I can mount corals on it. but if I leave it black then the fish show up better and I can add mp60s on the back if I ever need more flow. decisions decisions.
also the wife votes leave it black.

Just leave a couple of space clear or don't completely stick a few rocks on the wall to mount the mp60's

i say black. some of them turn out looking like a cichlid tank. if ur into fw thats cool but i like clean lines. plus like u said i can mount ur mps on the back. u could pile some rock up in the corners and have an open sand bed but i think the rock wall might become kinda boring at some point. bjt tk each their own. oh and, MORE PICS!!!!!!
