News Ringing in the new year with the first new fish species of 2018

Aphyosemion cyanoflavum, a Congo endemic, is a member of the A. ogoense group, a killifish popular among fishkeepers for their relative ease of husbandry and breeding. No doubt A. cyanoflavum would make an excellent aquarium fish and captive breeding candidate, too. Living in permanent bodies of waters such as streams and drain basins, Aphysoemion are not annual killifish so they live more than one breeding season - albeit still with relatively short life spans (2-4 years).
