remove anemone from rock

how do you remove anemone from rock safe

 

I use bone cutters and chip away the rock under the foot of the anemone tell I can get a finger under the foot then work it loose.

 

whats a bone cutter? do you mean a chisle?

 

I just use a flat screw driver and hammer (don't tell my husband) I put it on a towel and slowly and carefully chip the rock around the Anemone and leave a little rock on it's foot. Just be very careful not to let the screwdriver go thru the rock into it's foot. Sometimes they let loose and sometimes not.
I've also used wire cutters (don't tell him this either) but it takes a lot longer.

 

i have never done it,but i have heard of people using an ice cube and putting it at the base where it is attached to get it to release

 

Isn't that when it's on glass?

 

If its reachable, I just get a fingernail under it's foot and then peel off the foot.

 

Try aiming a power head at it for a while. It has worked for others, and certainly worth a try before risking injuring it.

 

You can also try and put an icecube on/near its foot if it is stuck on hard.
