Refugium Lights

    What is everyone using for the Refugiums, I plan on putting chaeto or live sand in there, haven't totally made up my mind on that yet... Interested in some ideas..

    I use a simple $5 clamp on light with one of those twisty lightbulbs

    Clamp on light with a 6500 K Compact flourescent bulb from Home Depot.

    right now im running a coralife compact florescent bulb in the stock hood but am planning to put a few LEDs over the fuge when i build the light for my DT

    Do you run the light 24 hours?

    If you plan on having macro algae I would suggest running your lights about 18 hours a day.  The algae needs some downtime also.

    The macro Algae sounds like a good thing to have in there, do I have that with Live sand or chaeto ? Or by itself?

    You can have both but the chaeto (or other macro algae) is a must.
