Red Sea Pro Salt?

    Does anyone use Red Sea Pro salt? I recently got talked into trying this stuff out as I have always used Reef Crystals in the past. A couple water changes later I noticed my ALK had really dropped. So I decided to test the ALK in a fresh bucket of Red Sea Pro mixed to about 1.025 and the Alk was really low, around 6-7dkh. According to the label it should mix to 12dkh. Was my first batch just a bad one? Has anyone had success with this? Debating on trying it again or going back to Reef Crystals.

    I used Red Sea Coral Pro salt for a year or so. Mine always was at stated values. I had to start dosing for alk and calcium (went to kalk) so I switched salt... I always had consistent params that I can remember. Did you mix the salt real well before adding it to your water? The CA, Alk, etc can settle....

    I always let it mix for at least 24 hours with a powerhead constantly mixing it.

    I think Terri was talking about mixing the salt in the bucket before adding it to your water. I have seen it suggested you should put the bucket on its side and roll it around to mix the salt well before adding it to your mixing water.
