Yeah , It killed a bunch of my fish years ago. It is also a temp fix since the overall problem of poor flow and dead spots with waste build up is still there. I say get some better flow in your tank and maybe get some more cleanup crew. This is just my opinion from my experience. Not sure how your tank is setup but its usually those two that cause a cyno outbreak. Good luck. Plus once it gets going it lives off light. So try improved flow cut back on light for a while and get some more cuc. Also syphon as much out as you can.

Red Slime Remover works great...shut skimmer off. Only bad thing is when you turn skimmer back on it makes skimmer go crazy.

Thanks fkr the reply. I know i need another power head and i was under the impression that a cuc wouldnt survive in a tank less than 6 months. I dont thing waste is a big problem as i only have 2 clown fish jn a 55tank gal.

It will eventually come back... I wouldn't waste the money. Turn your lights off for 3 days and your results will be identical.

will mytank 2 clowns be ok without lights? I moved my powerhead and it helped a ton! I added a small one just for extra flow.

Certainly. There is actually a pretty lengthy thread on this on reef central. A few are even adding this to their "monthly maintenance". Some people get worried about corals going without lights. All I have is sps, as far as corals go, and they did just fine. My two clowns were perfectly happy too. In fact, they didn't seem to notice. Still came out to eat, etc. at their normal times.
