I run 2 BRS deluxe reactors from BRS with MJ 1200's.  The problem that I'm having is the carbon doesn't tumble as I think the MJ isn't powerful enough.  I have the reactors hung in my stand so I think I am dealing with about a 3' head.  I'm not able to tee off my return pump.  Does anyone run something different on their reactors that would work in my situation?  I've looked at powerheads and pumps but not sure what would work.  Here's the link to the reactor I use:

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.[IMG]  Thanks!!

You normally don't want carbon to tumble because that grinds it down and causes the little particles to go in your tank.

Ya you don't really want the carbon to tumble for the reason flyingmoray said. Are you just running carbon in the dual reactor or are you running two different materials?

Yep, I know that.  Just tired after a stressful day.  I run BRS Rox carbon and their premium GFO...that needs to tumble a little[IMG].  The media is just sitting there in a big ball.  When I've changed it out, I could tell the GFO wasn't getting the flow through it because the color hadn't changed.  The carbon was just a big clump so water wasn't being forced through it.  Just wasting the stuff[IMG]  I am using as little as I can but with a 135, I need more than what the MJ's will handle.  So help me out here guys[IMG]

Try one of these then. You can adjust the output on the pump if it ends up being too much.  I have 2 of these and will continue to use these when I can.

Try using a mag 3 or a mag 5, the mag 5 is rated at 500g but if you are running 3' of head that will cut it down some, maybe even split it between the two giving the GFO more flow then the carbon. Just a thought.

Thanks Gered, Rick and Matt!! [IMG]   I'm going to try the Maxi-jets.  If those don't work, then I'll go with the Mag 5!  The Mag drives are great pumps as I have 4 of the 9.5's.  I like the idea of the adjustment on the MJ's so we'll see[IMG]  Thanks again guys!
