How many hours of light should Chaeto get a day?

Run your lights in your fuge opposite of your display tank.

I've read that in theory algae (such as macro) can grow with 2-4 hours of darkness per day - some people run lighting 24/7 over Caulerpa to prevent issues.
I run mine opposite of my display (as others) which is to stabilize pH swings (in theory).
Lighting for macro in my system is overnight from 9pm to 1pm only allowing 8 hours of darkness.

Thanks Eric, I was going to run my refuge light about 16hrs a day too but wasn't sure if that was too much.
