I'm looking at getting this RO/DI unit from Air Water and Ice:
Compact III 75GPD with DI Bypass Assembly and TDS Meter
    http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1COMPACTTIII/Compact-III-75GPD-with-DI-Bypass-Assembly-and-TDS-Meter.html
Anyone have any experience with this unit?
Also....I'm a little concerned about tapping into my water pipes. They have a valve that screws into the pipe. My concern is the possibility of it leaking over time. Anyone use anything like this? ...any issues?

I use an adapter I got from The Filter Guys and attached a shut-off valve instead of piercing my water line.  Works great!

Do you need the compact version?  I have the Full size Typhoon III and have never had a single issue with it.
I am not a fan of the piercing valves either so I use this:

I mounted my unit right above my washing machine and "t" off the cold water line going to it. That way you can use the same drain as the washing machine as well.

I use that exact valve and it's been great. There are cheaper ones that you need to watch out for, but this one is a good, quality built valve and should serve you well.

I use this valve as well. It has been two years and no issues. You can always by a valve that screws right into your plumbing.
