Currently I have 2 purple tangs in seperate tanks. The plan is combining 2 tanks into a 220. Will 2 purple tangs be ok in a 220 together?

I think for best luck you want to introduce them at the same time so neither one has an established territory, but you should have plenty of room in a 220 for a few purple tangs.

Even if you intro them at seperate times, there will be a couple days of fighting, then they should be fine.

I have seen purple tangs live together in a 300 gallon tank before, but after two years together, one started beating on the other. They were both introduced together and that is probably one of the only ways to try it. Sometimes it will work and other times it won't.
