Depends on what you are keeping for corals. If you plan on keeping softies and lps then one mp40 will be great. If you plan on keeping mostly sps then 2 mp40's. I had 2 on my 90g and they were perfect turned to 100% on reef crest mode.

The korallia wave makers are a joke for the price, which is why they stopped making them.

Like Bill said, it depends on what your goals are.

In a tank like that I would recomend 3-4 diffent powerheads. Your goal is to eliminate dead spots where there isnt any water movement at all. This will keep all your waste suspended until the filters can remove it.

If you are keeping softies & LPS, you can go with the smaller powerheads. If you are looking at LPS & SPS, go with some bigger powerheads.

It is a tough question to answer like that. Its like asking what should I buy for fish food. How many fish, what kinds, etc.

Would also like to put an anemone in. Looking at easy beginner fish..Gobies..Clown..tangs...

I know the vortechs are not cheap, but if you figure on how much you will spend on multiple lesser power heads, and still not have the amount of flow 1 mp40 will give along with a cleaner look and some of the best customer service in the business, it evens out. other wise your looking at 3-4 Korellia 3. Just like anything else, at least for me anyway, I always regret trying to go the cheaper route because it ends up costing me more money when I find I shojuld of spent the extra money the first time.

Could always go the modified maxijet route. I had them on my frag tank a while back... they are hard to beat gph/price wise.
