I have a flasher wrasse that I noticed popeye in one eye yesterday. Today the eye is completely gone. My question is has anyone had a fish lose an eye and still lived for rest of life expectancy? Fish still eats. Still swims and acts like nothing wrong. Just a empty hole where it’s eye was. I am assuming eye was an injury. Since no other fish have any popeye and the wrasse only had one eye infected.

I cannot say whether they live out their expected life span but they can live a long time with only 1 eye. The biggest thing is to insure that the affected fish is Not being chased/bullied/hassled by other fish. The second important thing is to ensure the fish gets adequate food during feedings. It is very common for the fish to position itself where it will see the most fish/activity.
