plywood tanks update

    both tanks are now full of water and holding with no leaks
    the frag tank is 48"x25"x14" with 1/2" front  glass has been full for over a week 
    the main tank is  72"x 36"x 29" with an external overflow  and 1/2" starfire front glass was just filled

    What kind of phone do you have? If it's a smartphone, just get the photobucket app and upload the pics straight to pbucket.

    here is a pic of the glass tank I just bought for $300. yes thats my 2 year old daughter in it.   she loved being in the tank pretending to be a fish. she screamed her head off when i took her out

    Matt that thing is awesome!!!! Did you use fiberglass on the seams or just epoxy paint? Next time I'm in des moins I'm going to have to talk you into letting me come see it in person. Great job man!

    I fibberglassed the whole inside about a 1/4" thick then epoxy painted it. It costed roughly a $1000 to build both tanks that's including glass i have some epoxy paint left over if anyone wants to build there own. if anyone wants to come see there welcome to

    How much paint do you have left? I could use it. I'm going to paint the inside of my 220 stand and canopy with some so it will be waterpoof. How much do you want for the paint?

    what size is that glass cages tank? where the heck did you get that at? the plywood build looks amazing! when you setting that bad boy up?

    Bill i can sell u 3/4 of a gal of both the the base and hardner a gallon and a half total for the same price as i paid for it FREE!!! the glass tank came from glasscages i bought it off the truck when i picked up my starfire glass it has a chip in one of the back corners so a restaurant in Chicago refused it and i talked the guy on the truck into selling it to me for $300 including schedule 80 bulkheads and acrylic overflow covers. It is roughly 315 gallons 67"x30"x36" 3/4" plate glass on all sides it weighs around 750-800lbs empty

    Hmm I don't know sounds a little steap /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/tongue.gif I will deffinetly take that off your hands matt. At that price I think I can aford to just drive up sometime soon and grab it and have a look at your tanks.

    Ok keep in mind I'm having surgery Tuesday so i will not feel like having company for a few weeks after my surgery

    Tanks look great! Any specific resources you found especially helpful while building these? I have been debating a plywood tank for the future.
