Has anyone had experience with pipefish? I am planning a future tank and was wanting to know a little more about them and hear your guys' experiences with them

Awesome fish, need quite a bit of established live rock as they eat pods like a mandarin. They do great in pairs

I really like them myself, we had 4 of the yellow banded at the store and I was able to get them to eat brine. Unfortuneatly I lost 2 to mini carpets but the other 2 are doing well in some customers tanks.

Yeah I did my research and it says that it is better not to have any anenome in the tank. I am specifically interested in the dragon face pipe fish.

    Dragonface Pipefish

    Scientific Classification:

    Kingdom: Animalia

    Class: Actinopterygii

    Phylum: Chordata

    Order: Syngnathiformes

    Family: syngnathidae

    Species: C. Haematopterus

    Diet: Carnivorous

Dragonface Pipefish eat small crustaceans like copepods and amphipods.
They also eat the parasitic amphipod that causes problems with SPS coral.
These parasitic amphipods are known as "Red bugs".

Maximum size: Dragonface Pipefish grow to about seven inches in length.

    Origin: Indo-pacific

Tank setup: The Dragonface Pipefish will be well suited in a species only
aquarium of 50 gallons with gentle currents and large amounts of live rock.

    Tank parameters:

    Specific Gravity: 1.020 - 1.025

    Temperature: 72 - 78º F although 70 - 72 is more ideal for pipefish because the
Temperature will make pipefish prone to disease and illness.

    PH: 8 - 8.4

(This is what I have learned so far and these are my own words)
