RO is testing 0 but when I add my salt its testing positive for phosphates. Is there phosphates in reef crystals?

I've read posts over the past couple of years that other people have had this issue from time to time.

Shouldn't be any, how much are you getting and what test kit are you using? I use reef crystals as well and the few times I've tested it I have had 0 with Hanna's digital green egg tester.

its possible. reef crystals and i/o have a higher organic compound(that includes phosphates) load than some other brands. I would prefer to switch to seachem myselff but i/o is so cheap and available, and it works. My skimmer and biopellet system will pull out phosphates and nitrates as needed.
