   can i splice this cable and put in an extra legnth to this bnc cable to run it to my controller? I really don't want to spend 35 dollars on 15 foot extension when I only need about 3 feet!!!

   Get the cable, splicing wire in is going to cause problems due to different wire gauges and materials.
   I think I have one you can have. PM me your address.
   NM, just went and looked, I think I tossed mine.
