Any one know about these Skimmers. I have a chance to get a RPS-5000 older syle for cheap. I can't find a lot about them, but the one seems to run good and was working great on a 300gl+ tank.. I can only find a RPS-3000 that looks like it at all!

    Any thoughts?

    Lee,

Yes I am thinking the same thing. I can't find the 5000 model that looks like the one being sold. It looks more like this but with the black base like the 5000.

Seller seems to really know its a 5000, but it only has a single pump and a platform. It was on a 300gal tank so I am sure it could do a 220 ok I am thinking that this is an older model of the 5000 serise or something.

Not sure if this helps, I found this on RC from 2008 which indicates its the same model as the Reef Octopus DDNW-250.

Everything I see has 2 pumps. I really think the seller is mixed up with his model number, as RPS should stand for "Recirculating Protein Skimmer" and the picture you posted is not a recirculating model.

I see a lot of PS-3000 models that look similar. Perhaps you could verify the height and diameter measurements.

So at the least if it is the 3000 it still should be good for a 220gal don't you think? I will get a picture of it and get messurements when I talk them again.

    Thanks Lee
