    Heh, yeah pretty scary.

I'm wondering, my sump has a overflow from the front to the back that cascades. I saw on the algae scrubber site some folks had bult more of a waterfall design and I could do that there without any pumping of water, just putting a screen where the cascade occurs. I'd only have one light, but might be worth trying? Or not?

So I went to Petland in IC tonight and had my nitrates tested with their kit (Thanks, Elliot). More like 20-40 ppm instead of 160. Hmm.

20-40 is much more manageable than 160.

When I built my scrubber the recommendation was 1 square inch per side per gallon. So with a 1 sided you would want 2 inches per gallon. I know the sizing guidelines have changed to much less, so if you have enough height on the overflow, it could work.

My new scrubber is fed from my tank overflow, so no pump is involved, it is less Maintanace and much quieter. I like it.
