Nitrate question again

    Two weekends ago my nitrates were 40 and I had my Koralia wavemaker with 3-1s and a 4 hooked up. I took them out and put in 1-8. The next weekend nitrates were down to 0 so I put the wavemaker back in. This weekend nitrates are going back up and are at 20. Nothing has died. Is this because my wave maker isn't enough flow?
