I have a newer tank that has been running for almost two weeks and green algae hairs and brown algae bloom is taking over. Anything I can do?

Do a water change your tank is cycling

Makes a lot of people panic, but like the others have said, it is normal. Let it run its course as part of the cycle...

When the ammonia and nitrites drop you can get a bunch of snails, crabs, other clean up crew. They're like scrubbing bubbles and can really help keep it in check.

LOL I like that. "scrubbing bubbles"

Water changes, you can suck some of the crap out when you are siphoning water out. Then get a good clean up crew with a variety of snails and crabs. Do a little research before you buy. Different snails eat different things, and in different areas of the tank.

Here's a good read I had bookmarked from when I was setting up my tank.
