NEVER AGAIN!

Bought a WYSIWYG Scoly from Rare Reef. Here is a photo of the one I ordered....


This is the one that I received.....
....and no response to any attempts to contact them.

Looks like same piece. What lighting was he using and what is your lighting?

 

Those are indeed two different scullys. Extremely apparent when u look at the center. The wysiwyg one is mostly orange in the center. The one you received is mostly purple.

 

Yes...the center color was the first thing I noticed and worse yet is the receded tissue. So disappointing.

 

The banding is different width. If you bought WYSIWYG you got f'd

 

It pays to check a company before buying.

They have a ton of stories out there like this on various forums

 

Makes you wonder how many people they do this to and get away with it because they just think their "lighting is different " or something like that.... :-/

 

Can you dispute it through PayPal ?

 

Many of companies have wysiwyg, but that is far from the truth. We always try to read the testimonials b4 buying now. Have been burnt couple times.

 

Yup. File claim with PayPal.

 

I have never bought a wysiwyg. I want to see it in person. I don't trust online corals. There are plenty members to buy most stuff from.

 

Maybe a credit card dispute.
I just wanted to make people aware.
My experience with Cherry Coral was a completely different experience...very impressed...wish they were all like that.

 

Yea you didn't get what you saw! Coral coloration can change but not that much that quick!...they owe you some orange!

 

There's always the probability that an organization that shady likely doesn't take great care of their pieces. Maybe with a little love you can get that thing popping!
Clearly not the same one but at least it's got a good home now.

Email twice with the photos, phone, finally posted a public post on FB and they said to text them. Text was sent without photos. Reply was that he saw the photos (must have seen the email) and would be responding later that day......have gotten no further response. I'll let ya'll know if anything changes.

 

Has been no further communication from them. I guess we'll see if they respond to a CC dispute.

 

I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience with Rare Reef but it isn't the first time he has ripped people off. Google Russell Goddard "Rare Reef" aka "Frag Farmer"
