Hi all.  We recently set up a 58 gallon tank.  It's been up for about 3 weeks now, and we had our algae bloom and then added some snails and crabs.  We were playing around last night with the aquascape and moved a rock, and found this growth.  Not sure if it's a good or a bad one, as we've had some problems with aiptasia and also some cyano.  So I'm wondering if this looks familiar to anyone, and whether we can leave it or need to get rid of it.

In this next picture, up at the top left corner you can also see some green stuff.  Not sure what that is either.  It's at the top left corner, kinda branches out and has some circular things growing off it.  And the pinkish looking stuff next to the purple in question, we were told is probably a leather coral.  [IMG]
Any help in IDing any of this is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

+1 on the macro algae and kenya tree. I'm not sure about the purple tho. It looks really weird tho, cause It almost looks like sponge the way its covering the rock, but then it kinda looks like zoas with the heads on it. Hopefully someone else can help id it. Defenetly a kenya tree leather coral tho and macro algae is the green stuff. No problem there.

ehh...now that you mention it the purple defenetly looks like gsp, but i dont think the polyps do. Thats pretty funny you started with a big HA. Everybody gets a good kick out of gsp. Perfect for beginners tho as its cheap and it has alot of bang. Until it takes over.

Just wait for em to pop out when they are used to being in the light again. May not be the green type but my money is on star polyps of some kind.

In the top picture, the plant to the left is a macro algae called peltata caulerpa  I have some in my macro tank and it's a nice macro to have, doesn't grow out of control and looks cool /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif  The one to the right looks like a form of halmeida also a nice addition, but you will need decent calcium levels to see growth.  I agree with the softie ID's of the others.........watch the Kenya tree, they can get out of hand, don't be afraid to prune them and toss or give away, as they can grow quickly given the right conditions.
