Last saterday I was down at Craig's shop and picked up three of the coolest wrasses I have ever seen. A male laboti's fairy wrasse ( cirrhilabrs laboutei )
Which has been doing awesome. He settled right in and has been eating like a champ.  I also got a male and female blue star leopard wrasse (Macropharyngodon bipartitus) The female is doing good a little shy but coming around. The male buried himself as soon as I put him in the tank and wont come out! I dug him up the second night and he looked around then buried himself again. I have had wrasses that would dig in at night but they always came out during the day to eat. So should I be concerned? Here is a couple pics of the laboutei and the female leopard but the pics don't even come close to capturing the awesomness of these fish.

You're telling me! I've been thinking about finding a gigas clam shell or some other big dish and putting a little sand in for them to call home at night. It would be really cool to have a bunch of wrasses, but I don't want to have to deal with sand in the rest of my tank. These fish might make it worth while!

I'm sure he will soon. He's just being a sissy lol. I got to say I spent more on these three fish than I ever spent on three fish in my life but that said it was worth every penny. I love these fish! When I get my 220 up and running down the road I plan on having a sweet wrasse colection.

Awww man Bill, I need to get down there and take some pictures for you! I just got my Nikon D90 back and it's freaking great!!!! I thought I was never going to see that camera again after the service place dicked around with me for 2 months. Now I'm back to snapping stellar shots of fish bolting across the tank!!! Here's my formula: set F stop to ~F10 so you have some focal depth to work with, set your shutter speed to whatever gives you a good exposure....then increase it by double (now pix will be too dark), then correct by turning up the ISO to 1200 or so (I can go to ISO 3200 before things get grainy), and BAM your shooting tanks as they bolt across the tank at 30mph with perfect clarity!

What have ya got going on this Wednesday evening man? Drop me a message w/ur street addy and I'll be down!

    cya dude,
    andy

Not only are those lovely fish, both being in my top 10 fav wrasses, those are lovely shots! My leopard would only come out from his sandy slumber for an hour or less a day. He did not live more than 2 weeks. He was a super wimp and could hardly get any food b/c they other fish bullied him so bad =(

Those are stunning fish! Sounds like Craig has some nice specimines in his shop!

Yea Craig's shop is going to be second to none. Give it a few more months to get going full steam and it would be well worth a road trip for you and a few of the other reefers from your neck of the woods. I am extatic with the awesomeness of these fish. I have a few more wrasses on my list for when I get my big tank up and I know exactly were I will be buying them[IMG]
