Because it has been sitting on my patio deck for a year.... It also has some nice color to it...from the bright green grass stains. I washed it out in the sink thouroughly but couldn't remove the grass stains. So it will be interesting to see how this affects the water quality. Also removed about 6 inches of sand from my tank. Down to one inch now.  I just wish I would have been able to get this tank running a month ago so I could buy something from the fall fest. Well, maybe I can...
Tank has been off with some water in it for 6 months. The water went down, but it stayed higher in the overflow, in which I have some live rock still in there. Hopefully the bacteria colony has survived so it can infect my other rocks. Maybe enough bacteria to allow me to buy a few corals...
Probably won't go to fall fest(unless I have some kind of bacteria superstrain on my rocks) but looking forward to the x-mas get together.

I would do a acid bath on that rock and then cook it before use.

Acid bath? Interesting idea. But I'm all out of acid right now though...so It's going in. Rocks are nicely aquascaped. Tanks smells like fresh lawncuttings...delicious! Going to start filling it up tonight, and the next night, and the next night and so on and so on. I'll just have to go a little slower since theres a bit more bio matter in there.
