So I got my new Apex week of MACNA locally. Been saving for it for 4 months and I finally got around to hooking it up this weekend. Had all kinds of problems. Well called neptune Systems today and he don't know why it was doing what its was doing.I had no web interface and could not port forward it. Does the same thing on my Dads network. Paul from NS said if it does it at another netwark then its the Apex. He figured it was the Apex, but it was a good check to make sure. I will have to return it already. I am not too happy, but support was good. I have to now decide to return to store I bought it from or get a RMA from Neptune or have a new one drop shipped to me ASAP, but that will coast me 225.00 bucks.

Just Great! Thanks all for you help who helped me.

Yeah, both of which are hard to come by when running a saltwater tank.

Man, that sucks. Why is it gonna cost you $225 to have them replace it?

Are they telling you that you have to pay for a new one or is the drop shipping that much?

I want them to drop/ cross ship me a new one a head of returning my old one
It costs 224.99 for a deposit. Then they return money after they receive the defected one.

I am glad i am not dependent on it

OK just an update. I decided to just send mine defective Apex in and have them look at it. Apex has been looked at and they told me that they are sending me a new Apex base unit. I also got 50% off a break out box and some PH Probe Calibration solution. I should get My new Apex unit by Monday. I was told that every 3 to four months to Calibrate the standard probe and that it will last around 1 year to 1.5 years tops./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif

I can't wait to get this all hooked up. I also can't wait for things to slow down around my house so I have time to do things.

    Later,,

Well just a couple more days till you get an APEX base and can start screwing around with the thing. You know my last couple of pH probes lasted a number of years, of course this most recent probe that I have has crapped out on me in less than 9 months. So I guess you never know. Also, calibration is really only important if you really use the information to make specific desciisons, personally as long as it's within +/- 0.5 then it's not really going to mean anything specific to me as long as it's in a normal range. Way to score on the breakout box! Now get some float switches on order!

Good to hear they are taking care of you. Kind of sucks its taking so long, but you can use the time for better planning.

Are lab grade PH probes any better? I am probably due for a replacement soon.

Well seems lab grade are a bit more accurate witch makes them quicker with changes in PH. They also last 2 to 2 1/2 years and Paul the tech guy says he calibrates his every 3 Months. That prompted me to by some calibration fluid from them too.

Yeah Time for better planing is always good..

Yeah as long as I get a with in range PH I will be happy. I have a few extra Float switchs so I am all set. My son is down to just one sport for a few months so that will help with time no as long as work don't start work more over time. That always help me with paying for all of this stuff so its good and bad.
