Multiple types of Anemones

I've read some articles recently about putting multiple types of anmeones in the same tank.  Some say it is ok, others say that the anemones will release toxins in an attempt to kill each other, and that slowly one or the other wins.
I have about a half dozen small maxis in my micro reef tank.  They were fairly stable.  I introduced a small bubble tip (for the clown fish) and now all of them including the bubble tip are constantly on the move.  It has been over 2 weeks and they are still in different places each morning.  Any thoughts?

Different species of anemone do not mix well. Yes, they will wage a chemical warfare upon one another........I would get rid of one of the species asap. You can run carbon and do more frequent water changes in the mean time, but really, its not going to cancel out completely whatever they're releasing to try and get the other species away from them. Not only will the noxious chemicals annoy/kill the opposing anemone species, but any coral in there may also suffer or die. I speak from experience unfortunately, having had a LTA in with RBT in a 75g.....perhaps if you had a very large system you could get away with it.

Hmmm....that is very helpful info. I aquired a RBTA 1 year ago, and now that it has tried to establish itself, other things in my system are suffering. Is it just the nems that are going to fight, or are the nems creating problems for everything else?
