Alright, I will be moving from Fort Dodge to Des Moines here probably Tuesday or Wednesday. The only problem I have is I'm not sure exactly how to transport everybody... Also, I might need to borrow a brute container or some type of container for RODI water. I'm going to try and save as much water as possible, but that's 70+ gallons to drive an hour and a half! So, I guess what I'm looking for here is a little advise and maybe a little help too. Have a buddy helping me, but may need another hand once I get down there. THANKS!!

just bag your stuff up like they would at the store and put the bags in coolers. wrap your live rock in damp newspaper and put in cooler. sand in a 5gal bucket with a little water, I wouldnt worry about bringing your old water as there is not much in it thats useful, that is all in your sand and LR.

I agree. Bag everything as if you were getting it from the store. If you can get the water mixed on the Des Moines side, then there is no need to worry about bringing any with you.

Make sure you keep everything at a pretty stable temperature (Put everything in coolers)

    Any questions, PM me

when I moved last year I put everything in Rubbermaid totes filled up about halfway or how ever full so you can lift it and it went good had no problems just went to Walmart got the $8 or $10 totes. I have a 90 gallon and a 65 gallon and it took about 3 hours to move everything

Sweet, thanks for the advise you guys! After reading what you guys have to say, I'm definitely a little less nervous. Now I just need to have 70 gallons of water ready to go down there! haha! Anyway, I'm stoked as hell to get down there, that's for sure!! I'll actually be able to go to meetings and really take advantage of the perks of being in the club! Woo!

If you have buckets to haul it in and give me two bags of RC salt I can hook you up with 70gal of fresh salt water. I just need 24 hours notice

I'm the same way. I need probably 48 hours, but Matt has a huge system. There are plenty of us who can help have water ready on this side for you. Just let us know. Matt can make more water in a day though than I can in a week lol.
