Why do you want to take the water with you? Many folks will tell you the water doesn't retain biological value. I don't know if I agree; I've always used existing water to help seed my tanks, but I don't know if I'd go to the trouble of moving it across state lines.

I would just use enough water to cover your liverock and transport the livestock in. Have some new stuff made up for he rebuild. I used larger rubbermaid type totes and trash cans, and keep the water level a little lower in the container.

When I moved my 250 I put all the live rock in 3, 50 gallon trashcans and covered them with water. They were actually pretty full, and I lost very little water on the road trip from Des Moines to CR.
